The whole event was a crazy thought written on a knee.

We wanted to encourage our friends and people from neighbouring villages to get involved in sport and raise money for a good cause through it. And that’s why we invented the event FreeRun. Anyone can join – run, ride their bike or just go for a walk.

The event took place 23rd July in Bobrova, the Czech Republic. Overall 46 competitors attended FreeRun 2016 with 15 cyclists and 31 runners. It raised 5,200 CZK / 180 GBP just from the entry fee.

The idea was to support the needs of a dog shelter in Polna. Their primary need was a dog shed. Our friend Jaroslav Trnka built the shed for us for free and everyone who attended signed it!

We used the raised money to buy snacks and other delicacies and gave those to the shelter in Polna. We had much more than we needed, therefore we could donate some of them to a shelter in Zdar nad Sazavou too. Thus we ended up helping two shelters instead of just one.

The FreeRun16 made us really proud and motivated us to organise more events in the future.
