FreeRun17 was devoted to helping Denni stationary ROSA (the Day Care Centre DEW), which is based in Bystrice nad Pernstejnem, the Czech Republic. The DEW is a centre for people with mental and combined disabilities. Clients spend their free-time there, where we had prepared a program full of games and other activities.

After the first year of FreeRun16, we wrote a list of our goals, which we wanted to achieve in another year, and those we managed to conquer. Triple attendance, prepare home-made goodies (for more on this see the website, get together people with the same desire for sport, and of course, continued with helping.

FreeRun17 took place on 10th June 2017 again in Bobrova, the Czech Republic. 146 enthusiasts participated, which was triple the number from last year. Everyone who ran rode a bike or just took a walk, got a memorial medal. These medals had a huge meaning, because the drop, which is the main part of the medal, was made by clients from the DEW. “Dragon mini-race” was prepared for kids. Throughout the event, it was possible to buy a tombola, win beautiful prizes and contributing in many ways.

Thanks to everyone who participated and our sponsors, we managed to raise 38,200 CZK / 1,320 GBP. This money was donated to the DEW to help their clients.

The DEW Rosa used part of the money to rebuild, where a therapeutic garden will be built for use by users with severe disabilities. Thanks to the 20,000 CZK contribution, we are part of this beautiful project.

Some car careers and local transport are not barrier-free, so we have contributed 18,200CZK to cover the cost of transporting clients to the station. You can read more here:
